Description
Buchu leaf oil is made by drying and steam distilling the leaves from the small, thorny buchu bush. Native to South Africa, buchu has long been used by indigenous communities there for a range of medicinal purposes. It grows wild near streams in the fynbos, a belt of coastal shrubland in the Eastern and Western Cape with a Mediterranean climate. It has a bittersweet, blackcurrant tang with a hint of mint.
