Handmade and wheel-thrown, this one-of-a-kind vase was designed and made by potter George Brownwin in Somerset, UK. Composed of speckled stoneware and porcelain slip, hand-painted oxides, underglazes and 24-carat gold lustre details, Bowerman and the Hare illustrates the 11th century legend of hunters, witches and a hare, that goes by the same name. Commissioned to celebrate the moonlit moorlands that inspired our Autumn 26 fragrance.
George Bronwin
George Bronwin is a potter, based in the Quantock Hills in Somerset, UK. His handcrafted and handpainted pots draw from a broad set of influences, ranging from 12th–17th century Persian painted pottery to Iznik Ottoman ceramics, Delft ware, British studio and medieval pottery.
For Autumn 26, we have bottled a moonlit moor. With the smudged, spacious quality of twilight, this lunar fragrance shimmers with lavender, iris and violet leaf. Warmer notes of tonka and immortelle capture the honeyed scent of heather - a hare’s-eye view.
