Blackcurrant bud

Blackcurrant bud absolute is one of the few natural fruity materials in perfumery. Whilst most fruity notes are synthetically reconstructed by perfumers, blackcurrant bud preserves its true aroma - green, woody and resinous - entirely naturally. Harvested from new leaf buds from the ribesium nigrum, blackcurrant bush, our absolute is highly prized for the quality and heritage of its terroir. Grown in the historic heartland of cassis perfumery in Burgundy, France, the plant thrives during deep winter, and is picked between November and February when its aromatic compounds are most concentrated. The coveted absolute is obtained through extraction using volatile solvents.
