Translated from the French, ‘wood of the Landes’, after the vast pine-covered forests of the Landes region in south-western France, Bois des Landes is an exciting material in perfumery. Rather than a straightforward essential oil, it is created through the co-distillation of French pine resinoid and Virginian cedarwood oil.
Brought together during extraction, the two ingredients are transformed into a material with an olfactory character of its own, evocative of a walk through a pine forest with subtle facets of balsam fir and fruity blackcurrant.
