Description
Our cypriol comes from the rich wetlands of Madhya Pradesh in central India, where its wild, grassy roots have grown for thousands of years.
The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the plant’s sun-dried and crushed rhizomes (knotty underground stems) - a process which takes far longer than for many flower or leaf oils. With its animalic, earthy tones and time-honoured extraction process, cypriol is prized as a rare ingredient. Sitting at the base of a fragrance, it also acts as a fixative, extending longevity.
