Lavender Maillette essential oil is considered one of the finest varieties in perfumery. While it shares the familiar character of Lavandula angustifolia, its scent is notably softer, sweeter, and more nuanced - with a higher concentration of linalyl acetate and a lower camphor content.
Often referred to as ‘English lavender’, our Maillette sprigs are grown and harvested in Provence during July and August, where lavender cultivation dates to the 15th century. . With its sweet, intense and honeyed notes, ours is grown by a fourth-generation farming family. After harvest, the stems are left to dry briefly, allowing excess moisture to evaporate, before being gently steam distilled to preserve their delicate aromatic profile.
