Agarwood, or oud, as it's known in Arabic, has a deep cultural history that spans fourteen centuries. Sourced from evergreen Aquilaria agallocha trees in Trat, eastern Thailand, ours is rich, refined and complex, with deep and woody, leathery base notes. An ancient and sacred material so prized by royalty and religious leaders that it was referred to as ‘black gold’, agarwood is created when a protective resin seeps into the tree’s heartwood to safeguard it from threat. Combined with pure, mineral-rich water sourced and distilled from an aquifer 60 metres underground, our agarwood is extracted through steam distillation of the soaked and fermented agarwood bark.
