Vanilla pod

Our Madagascan vanilla absolute is the most concentrated form of natural vanilla on earth. Extracted from the cured pods of the climbing orchid, vanilla planifolia’s yellow flowers, it has an aromatic profile that is woody, warm, gourmand and sweet. Our vanilla is sourced from a terroir that is considered the benchmark for vanilla quality in perfumery.

The flowering season lasts for just two months and begins during the rainy season from October to November. During this time, a meticulous process of hand pollination is carried out on each and every flower. The green pods are harvested by hand when fully ripe between May and August, after which they are scalded and slowly dehydrated in the sun. It is only when the pods are at their most fragrant that they are converted into vanilla absolute by solvent extraction.
