We are at the heart of Ġeola, the ancient twelve-day celebration of midwinter. This is the wheel’s darkest spoke, marking the ending of the calendar year. Our fragrance celebrates the close magic of this season – its warmth and shadow and comfort.
“In the first batch of Ġeola, we wanted to celebrate vanilla - a new ingredient for us, and one we’ve been waiting to use for some time. Unexpectedly, last year saw an international scramble for vanilla, which led to many growers harvesting the green pods prematurely. Luckily, our Madagascan growers allowed their vanilla to mature slowly, letting its complexity develop. Because it was even more precious than usual, we went out of our way to ensure its distinctive scent was really present in the dry down of the fragrance.”

Ġeola Eau de Parfum is composed from 15 natural ingredients.
Colombia
Our coffee beans are grown in Colombia’s famed Coffee Axis. The beans are roasted and ground to develop their natural sugars, giving the essential oil a rich and nutty character. Roasting the coffee bean allows the essential oil to linger longer, anchoring the lighter ingredients.

For Ġeola, Alex Merry took inspiration from the mysterious midwinter tradition of hunting the wren on St Stephen’s Day - though in her reimagining she allows this tiniest of birds to fly free rather than be sacrificed.
